about

Our first album is now available!

Harpists of all ages throughout Far North Queensland have created a special collection of Christmas harp music. We welcome you to discover and enjoy this lovely compilation of carols.

All proceeds from the album go back into the community. Your donation directly supports us, the FNQ Harp Connection, to create fun projects and opportunities to improve the accessibility, and sharing of harp music in the far north region.

This is the perfect Christmas music for around the home. Festive, soothing and full of character, this album will keep you calm and fill the house with the sound of angels while you decorate, cook and laugh with loved ones.

The children's three pieces add a special Christmas quality to the album. Away in a Manger and The First Noel would make a gorgeous soundtrack for a live nativity play. The four young girls were excited to have their music on an album, and you can hear Lily Gatti's sigh of relief in Little Drummer Boy as she finishes a successful recording take.

Salzedo's Profoundly Peaceful is performed by Eloise Little, who sent it up from Melbourne where she spent her most of her first year at university in lockdown, in her bedroom... with a harp! The silver lining in the cloud. Fifteen year old Hannah Burnett premieres her fiery original piece Revelation.

Loni Fitzpatrick, second harpist for the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and general maverick player, has been an inspiring mentor. You can hear her in duet with Hannah on O Holy Night, and her joyful arrangement of the title track We Wish You A Harpy Christmas. She also designed our lovely album cover!

You may enjoy the lovely arrangement of Hark! The Herald Angels Sing with harp and Irish whistle by Katherine Knott and Naomi Jean O'Sullivan. Ukrainian Carol of the Bells was arranged for six harps by Natalia Mann, with Gretchen Dickins and Bronwyn Turnbull holding the bass.

Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy is played by four lever harps and two grand harps - can you figure out how we did it?

St Basil's Hymn is a traditional Greek song about a tree and the saint, that was sung by children. Anita Hsu has added a charming original variation to the arrangement. Anita's solo rendition of In the Bleak Midwinter is a peaceful moment for reflection.

We hope you enjoy our first album, handmade with love, a Christmas gift of harp music from us to you.
